How to make Egyptian Falafel? authentic recipes!

Egyptian Food Made Easy Cookbook

Cookbook On Kindle

Everyone loves Egyptian foods and people from all around the world are curious to explore the Middle Eastern Arab recipes, like Falafel, Samosa, Katayef, garlic dip, cookies, and here in my blog, I’m willing to share all around the world-famous Arab world recipes for all mommas who were keen to Try the delight of Arab culture. Someone might ask me, why?

A friend gave me a piece of advice, she suggested that I was an excellent cook, as I can share my secret tips and tricks, then I can serve a broader audience to sell my English picture books for kidsπŸ˜ƒ and Arabic novels, Kindle books. And I guess at some point, she was right, I believe sharing recipes is an excellent way to exchange ideas and get more visitors to my blog…come to mama πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—πŸ€—!!

Just kidding😜!! The real reason is I’m really keen on reaching out and teaching all my beloved neighbors, friends and fans about my culture including recipes.

Especially after I watched a cooking show on Netflix last week, and after 45 minutes of watching the cooking contest among five families from all around the world, I figured out that one of the families were prepping a recipe from the Middle East and unfortunately, they got it all wrong, we don’t make it that way, and it didn’t take that much time to prepare and of course, having three adults to prep, it wasn’t one of the prerequisites!

At the cooking show, they were serving “Shak-Shuka” dish, which primarily, we consider it, an easy hobby lobby recipe. You crack the eggs, fry them with butter and mixed veggies and tomato sauce. See, it’s not that hard at all! πŸ˜•

Anyway, let’s get our falafel done, BTW, we call it “Ta`meya” in Egypt. BTW, most of the pictures were shared from my wonderful caterer friend Iman.

Now, let’s get to the nitty gritty, πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

1-      First, I get your fava Beans soaked in water for a whole day, just water from your kitchen tab. If you are in a hurry, you might boil some water and let it simmer with the Fava beans altogether, then you don’t have to soak it for a whole 24 hours.

2-     Get rid of the water and  One big cup of the soaked fava beans with one middle-sized chopped onion, 2 cloves of garlic “not a whole clove though”, chopped cilantro, chopped parsley, chopped the dill.

3-       Mix in your blender, pack it and freeze.

4-       If you want to cook it immediately, get your frying pan, add your oil, heat it, and make your oil really hot.

5-       Your green dough falafel needs a speck of salt and black pepper. So, crack an egg, mix it with your salt and pepper, then add some sesame seeds on top, also sprinkle some dried coriander is optional.

6-      Scoop a tablespoon from your mixture, add it to the pan and wait until the side facing the oil turns golden brown, then flip it over.

If you wanted to make sure that your falafel isn’t underdone, insert a fork and see if it came out clean, then you’re done, but if the fork has some of the mixtures stuck on it, then re flip it again and wait.

Enjoy your Taameya Falafel and stay tuned for more stories and recipes!
